Tata Motors is all set to revolutionize the premium EV segment with the launch of the Tata Harrier EV, showcased earlier at the Auto Expo and now inching closer to its official debut. The Harrier EV brings the bold design DNA of its ICE sibling, while integrating futuristic electric styling elements like a full-width LED light bar, aero-enhanced alloy wheels, EV-specific grille, and reworked bumpers. The muscular stance and coupe-like silhouette remain, giving it an aggressive road presence. Built on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, the Harrier EV is not just an electric version of the Harrier it’s a thoroughly reengineered product for the next generation.
Dual Motor AWD Setup and Over 500 Km Range
The Harrier EV is expected to be Tata’s first all-wheel-drive (AWD) electric SUV, featuring a dual motor setup that delivers better traction and performance across terrains. While exact power figures haven’t been confirmed, it’s expected to produce over 200 bhp and offer drive modes like Eco, Sport, and Terrain. Equipped with a battery pack of 60–70 kWh, the Harrier EV is likely to deliver a real-world range of 500–550 km on a single charge. Fast charging support, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) capabilities will also be offered, adding to its utility.
Tech-Loaded Interior with AI & Connected Features
Inside, the Tata Harrier EV will offer a futuristic cabin with a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, 360° camera, powered seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, and ADAS Level 2 features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, and autonomous emergency braking. The interior will be plush, featuring vegan leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and connected car tech with voice-enabled AI assistant and OTA update support via Tata’s new UI/UX system.
Sustainability Meets Performance
Built on Tata’s born-EV platform derived from Omega Arc + Gen 2 EV, the Harrier EV ensures better cabin space, structural safety, and battery integration. The battery will be protected with IP67-rated waterproofing, high-impact resistance, and regenerative braking technology for improved efficiency. Tata will also likely offer drive-by-wire tech and optional 4×4 for off-road enthusiasts.
Tata Harrier EV Price & Launch Timeline in India
The Tata Harrier EV is expected to launch in late 2025, with a price tag starting from ₹27 lakh to ₹32 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV Long Range, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona EV, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8. With its striking looks, long range, dual motor setup, and Tata’s growing EV network, the Harrier EV is poised to become a game-changer in India’s premium EV market.
