Maruti Suzuki Dzire has officially taken the wraps off the new 2024 Dzire, India’s best-selling compact sedan. Based on the same platform as the recently launched 4th-gen Swift, the Dzire gets updated styling, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced features. While it retains its sedan form factor, the new Dzire gets redesigned bumpers, a wider front grille, LED projector headlamps, and dual-tone alloy wheels giving it a more premium and mature road presence. It continues to offer ample rear-seat space and boot practicality, making it a strong contender for both families and fleet buyers.
All-New 1.2L Z-Series 3-Cylinder Engine
Under the hood, the Dzire 2024 gets the new 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine, replacing the older K12 unit. This new motor produces 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque, and is tuned for better fuel economy, lower emissions, and smoother operation. The car is offered with both a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT (AGS) gearbox options. The biggest highlight? A claimed mileage of 25.4 km/l (manual) and 25.7 km/l (AMT)—making it one of the most fuel-efficient petrol sedans in India.
Modern Interior with Premium Touches
Inside, the Dzire now features a refreshed dashboard layout, inspired by the new Swift and Baleno. It comes equipped with a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start, and rear fast-charging ports. Higher variants also offer cruise control, auto-folding ORVMs, and keyless entry.
Enhanced Safety with 6 Airbags
Maruti has also improved safety in the 2024 Dzire, offering 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, reverse parking sensors, and ISOFIX mounts as standard or optional depending on the variant. Built on the Heartect platform, the new Dzire also benefits from structural enhancements for better crash protection.
Price and Variants in India
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2024 is expected to launch in August–September 2024, with prices ranging from ₹6.99 lakh to ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be available in LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+ variants, and will continue to rival the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor in the sub-4m sedan segment.
