Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the updated Maruti WagonR 2025, one of India’s most popular hatchbacks, with subtle design enhancements, more features, and improved fuel efficiency. The new model retains its iconic tall-boy silhouette, ensuring ample headroom and easy ingress, but now comes with refreshed bumpers, new grille design, updated LED tail lamps, and fresh dual-tone color options to appeal to younger buyers. It continues to be a top choice for city families and fleet operators looking for comfort, practicality, and low running costs.
Petrol and CNG Options with Class-Leading Mileage
The 2025 WagonR is expected to carry forward its tried-and-tested 1.0L and 1.2L petrol engines, now tuned for even better emissions and refinement. The 1.2L K-Series engine produces around 89 PS and 113 Nm, while the 1.0L petrol-CNG variant continues to offer incredible mileage. The petrol version delivers up to 25.2 km/l, while the CNG variant may exceed 34 km/kg, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in India. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual or AMT (AGS) gearbox, depending on the variant.
Interior Refresh with Smart Tech Features
Inside, the new WagonR gets minor layout improvements and updated seat fabric for a fresher look. The top variants come equipped with a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, dual-tone dashboard, and power-adjustable ORVMs. Rear seat space remains class-leading, and boot capacity continues to offer good utility for everyday use.
Improved Safety with Dual Airbags & ESP
Maruti is upgrading the safety package in the 2025 WagonR with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert, and seatbelt reminders as standard. Higher variants are expected to include Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist, especially in AMT trims, to meet evolving safety norms.
Maruti WagonR 2025 Price & Launch Details
The Maruti WagonR 2025 facelift is expected to launch in early 2025, with prices ranging between ₹5.80 lakh and ₹7.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+ trims, the new WagonR will continue to rival hatchbacks like the Hyundai Santro (if revived), Tata Tiago, and Citroën C3. With its tall-boy design, fuel efficiency, and Maruti’s trusted after-sales network, the WagonR remains one of the best-selling family hatchbacks in India.
