Tata Motors is preparing to launch the updated Tata Punch 2025 facelift, building on the success of one of India’s best-selling compact SUVs. Known for its rugged design, high ground clearance, and 5-star safety rating, the new Punch will bring in subtle design enhancements, improved infotainment, and added features to stay ahead in the micro SUV race. The exterior could get revised bumpers, LED lighting updates, a new front grille, and fresh alloy wheel designs. Dual-tone color options and blacked-out roof trims are also likely to be expanded.
Same Punch, More Powertrain Choices – Petrol, AMT & CNG
Mechanically, the Punch 2025 will continue with the 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine, producing 88 PS and 115 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. Tata is also expected to expand the CNG lineup, which already delivers over 26 km/kg mileage and includes twin-cylinder boot layout for better luggage space. There are also speculations of a turbo-petrol variant being considered to compete with the high-performance trims of its rivals.
New Tech Inside: Bigger Screen, Sunroof & Connected Features
The facelifted Punch is expected to introduce a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system (in top trims), a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and possibly a voice-activated sunroof—all in line with Tata’s newer models like the Altroz Racer and Nexon facelift. You can also expect automatic climate control, rear charging ports, cruise control, and enhanced IRA connected car features in the higher variants.
Top-Class Safety with 5-Star Global NCAP Rating
Safety remains a core strength for the Punch. The facelift will continue to be based on Tata’s ALFA platform, which helped it achieve a 5-star rating in adult occupant safety. New variants may come with 6 airbags, ESC, traction control, and hill start assist, especially in the AMT trims. Rear parking sensors, camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts will likely remain standard across most variants.
Tata Punch 2025 Expected Price & Launch in India
The Tata Punch 2025 facelift is expected to launch in mid-2025, with prices ranging between ₹6 lakh and ₹9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to compete with the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx, Citroën C3, and Renault Kiger. With its bold design, practical features, fuel-efficient engine, and strong safety credentials, the Tata Punch facelift is all set to remain a top-selling urban SUV for young buyers and small families.
